Those who know us well will know that we have always been somewhat sceptical about awards, certifications and rankings. The financial industry has no shortage of trophies and recognition, and many are influenced by sponsorship, marketing budgets, participation fees or other commercial considerations. In our view, an award by itself does not necessarily prove anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This recognition feels different. Saxo has been our broker since the inception of Valence Global Fund. They have not simply seen a presentation about our investment philosophy or reviewed a selected period of performance. They have seen every trade since Day One. They have seen when we bought, when we sold, when we chose to do nothing, how we behaved during difficult periods, and how the portfolio evolved through very different market environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is very little room for storytelling when the party recognising you has had full visibility into the actual investment journey from the beginning. For that reason, we regard this award as a genuine validation of the discipline, patience and effort that our team has put into Valence Global Fund over the years, and we are proud to receive it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But we also believe this recognition belongs to our investors. In particular, it belongs to those who supported us from the very beginning, when Valence had no long-term track record, no awards and little more than an investment philosophy in which we believed deeply. Your trust gave us the opportunity to build that record. Your patience gave us the freedom to remain patient. And your support allowed us to continue investing according to our convictions, rather than according to the pressures of short-term markets. For that, we remain deeply grateful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
